Our Wedding Invitations

Hi loves! I’ve been meaning to share this long awaited post for a while now- our wedding invitations! Deciding on which suite to go with is not an easy decision at all! There are a variety of companies out there and small businesses who create beautiful designs, but we were drawn to Stylish Wedd because of the quality and the amount of options they provide. You can design everything you need for your wedding needs including save the dates, invitations, place cards, programs and menus that match with your theme.

Before COVID-19, our original invitation count was for 150 guests. Unfortunately, we decided to have an intimate wedding instead with only 8 of our closest family members. It ended up being more beautiful than we could have imagined. There’s something special about having an intimate wedding where the bride and groom can focus on each other.

We still wanted to send out official invitations to all of our initial guests because we chose to live-stream for everyone else could still experience our special day. With the help of our venue and vendors, we made the final call in advance so that we could put the correct information and links on our invitations. As a general rule, invitations should be sent out 6-8 weeks before the wedding date.

Stylish Wedd offers an arrangement of high end invitation print options such as foil, laser cut, UV printed, acrylic and basic card stock if you want a more budget-friendly option. Our invitations came with the vellum sleeve which made for a classy, timeless look. We ultimately chose an invitation with beautiful gold font, greenery, a pink envelope and a gold wax seal with our initials embedded in it. It matched our wedding palette perfectly!

Upon first visiting Stylish Wedd’s website, Matt and I were surprised to see elegant and beautiful everything looked and how easy it was to browse through all the options. Once you decide on the perfect match for your wedding, the rest of the process is simple. There will be a series of questions asking you how you would like the wording, fonts and dates to be displayed. Once submitted, you’ll receive a proof via email making sure everything looks just right. If not, they work with you until it’s perfect!

Once we received them in the mail, we were so impressed with the quality that we couldn’t wait to send them out to all of our guests! We heard from many of them saying that these were some of the most beautiful invitations they had seen!

If you’re looking for beautiful wedding invitations that are high end, but budget friendly, I highly recommend using Stylish Wedd. Everything you see on their website is fully customizable. They also offer various printing methods and free shipping. It doesn’t get better than that!

Q & A for Ordering Invitations

Am I sending my invitations out at the right time?

Be sure to allow yourself enough time to order, receive and send out your invitations. 6-8 weeks is the best time to get them in the mail. For destination weddings, 6 months out is recommended.

Should I be sending an invite to each guest or household?

As a rule of thumb, the invitation count goes by household or per couple if you know both will attend. Generally, most weddings allow for a plus one as well which you should account into your final invitation count. For example, 150 guests does not mean 150 invitations. We almost made that mistake!

Does my invitation match the rest of my wedding branding?

When planning a wedding, you want to keep your color scheme and branding consistent. Not everyone cares about this as much as others, but for me the aesthetic was really important – it made the whole day and feeling extra gorgeous! I highly recommend making a Pinterest board for your wedding and a sub-board for your invitation inspiration!

Should I order extra invitations just in case?

100%! You should order a least 10 extra in case you decide you want to invite anyone else, or if one gets lost or damaged in the mail. We spilled water on a few and we were SO glad we had the extras!

What do I put in the wording? Should I add a link to the registry?

Less is more. You want to include all the important information including your names, date and wedding venue. Rather than putting your registry link directly invitation, include your wedding website where guests can get all the extra details of your wedding day including the registry. We used Zola and everyone loved how beautiful it turned out!

I hope today’s post offered you some inspiration! Congratulations to all the newly engaged couples reading this post. In case you were wondering, my wedding shoes are from Bella Belle Shoes! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of Stylish Wedd!
